Louise Alles, 89, of Greeley, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at North Colorado Medical Center. She was born in Greeley on October 4, 1921 to Conrad and Elizabeth (Walters) Hoff and lived in the Greeley community her entire life. On March 14, 1940, she married Herman Alles and assisted on the family farm and was also a homemaker. Mrs. Alles was a member of St. Paul's Congregational Church and belonged to the church Ladies Aide group. She enjoyed canning, cooking and baking as well as gardening, quilting, knitting and sewing. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Stroh of Osh Kosh, WI; three grandchildren, Rachel (Dan) Loos of Glenview, IL, Renee (Chris) Norlin of Scotts Valley, CA and Harry Alles of Greeley; a great-granddaughter, Addison Norlin of Scotts Valley; a brother, Walter (Linda) Hoff of Fruita, CO; sister, Viola Amen of Pierce; sister-in-law, Vera Hoff of Greeley; a daughter-in-law Marion Mallard of Longmont and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Larry and Randy Alles; her parents and a brother, Leroy Hoff. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Congregational Church followed by the service at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Linn Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul's Congregational Church in care of Allnutt, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
