FITCHBURG – Louise M. (Ouellette) Berube, 85, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024 in River Terrace Healthcare.
Louise was born in Fitchburg on June 22, 1938, a daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice (Sabourin) Ouellette. She graduated from Saint Bernard's High School in 1956, and a year later married Roland G. Berube, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage together, before his passing in 2008.
As a young woman Louise enjoyed skiing, an activity she always remembered fondly. She was a devout catholic, and a lifelong parishioner of Saint Joseph Church in Fitchburg, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and very active in several other ministries. Louise was an extremely selfless and loving wife, mother and grandmother; she was always giving of herself and donated to many charities.
Louise loved spending time with her family, and always enjoyed her home on Lake Watatic. She looked forward to lunch and going to the hairdresser with her niece Susan, and her Patriots games and trips to the casino with her niece Leeny. Visits to the lake, lunches and dinners were such treasured times Louise spent with her late niece Ann Marie.
She is survived by her four children, Pamela Overton of Tega Cay, SC, Steven Berube of Wardsboro, VT, Michael Berube of Kailua, HI, Norman Berube and wife Cynthia of Chelmsford; grandchildren, Tyler, Jillian, and Ethan Berube, Meredith Berube, Dustin Overton and wife Megan, and Delaney Overton; a brother Andre Ouellette of Westminster; many nieces and nephews.
Louise was predeceased by her siblings, Claire Ouellette, Lucille Richard, Theresa Leger, Priscilla Stragliotto, William, Alphonse, and John Ouellette.
Calling hours will be held in the Isabelle and Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg from 4:00 - 7:00pm on Monday, April 1. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2, in Saint Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
