Louise Henry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Reflection Cremation & Funeral Service - Tifton on Mar. 31, 2026.
Dr. Louise Greene Henry, Ph.D., passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2026.

Born on April 28, 1940, in Avondale Estates, Georgia, Louise remained a proud daughter of her hometown throughout her life. She was a 1958 graduate of Avondale High School, where the foundations of her lifelong commitment to learning were laid. Louise's academic journey was a testament to her brilliance and drive.

After graduating from the University of Georgia, she earned a Master's degree from Georgia Southern University and ultimately achieved her Ph.D. from Clemson University.

Her professional life was marked by entrepreneurial success as the owner and operator of her own agricultural chemical research business, where she became a respected figure in her field.

While she served as President for several national organizations, Louise found her deepest sense of civic pride serving as an officer for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Her passion for history extended into her personal life through extensive ancestry research and delicate watercolor painting. An avid sailor and a lifelong fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Louise could often be found cheering on her team with the same vigor she applied to her professional pursuits.

Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herb Henry, and her daughter, Cynthia Henry Orso.

Her legacy continues through her son, Matthew Henry, his wife, Sharon; and her cherished granddaughter, Madison Hayden.
