Louise Iser, 89, formerly of Worthington, passed away at the home of her daughter on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born July 1, 1935 in Pine Bluff, a daughter of the late George Owens and Virginia Murphy Robinson.
On August 31, 1953, Louise married Homer Leroy "Bud" Iser, who preceded her in death in 2017.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Jackie Lanham of Mannington; Cheryl Thorpe and her husband Jeff of Summerville, SC; and Terri Atha of Worthington; her grandchildren, Aaron Carpenter and his wife Tammy; Jenny Messinger; Austin Richards and his wife Kassy; and Justin Lanham; as well as her great-grandchildren, Brady Carpenter; Whitney Carpenter; and Grace Messinger.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her son, Gilbert "Lenny" Iser; her brother, James Robinson; and her sons-in-law, Jeffrey Richards and Randy Lanham.
For many years, Louise worked as a florist at Bice's Greenhouse. She was a member of the Wyatt Union Fellowship Church. Louise enjoyed sewing, doing word search puzzles, tending to her flower garden, and watching Gunsmoke. Her greatest love was caring for and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Sunday from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 24th at 11:00am with Pastor Roy Clark officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton.
