Louise Kingsland departed this earth on September 19, 2024, peacefully. Early in the morning she made heaven her home joining The Lord. Known for her unwavering kindness, loving nature, and caring spirit, Louise fulfilled her roles as a cherished wife, mother, and friend with dedication and affection. A valiant warrior, she courageously battled cancer, leaving behind an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Born in Berkley, California, on April 27, 1949, Louise was the daughter of Conrad “Jack” Vath. At the age of fourteen, she met her stepmother, Alice Engstrom Vath, who embraced her with open arms and loved her as her own. In 1975, Louise married Alfred Kingsland, a union that brought her a stepson, Ed, whom she raised with unwavering love. Together, Louise and Al had another son, Chad, completing their family.

Louise's life was shaped while growing up in San Francisco and Daly City, California, where she attended local schools. After graduating, she dedicated nine years to Pacific Bell Telephone Company before joining her father's establishment, Park & Shop restaurant. Her entrepreneurial spirit later inspired her to establish her own house cleaning business, a venture she managed successfully until facing a health challenge at age 35, when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Despite the physical limitations brought on by her condition, Louise remained unyielding in her desire to work and connect with others. She found fulfillment in her role as a waitress, a job she genuinely enjoyed. In 1989, Louise and her family relocated from California to Idaho, where she managed a home for the elderly in Jerome. Her passion for helping others, particularly the elderly, shone brightly as she cherished the time spent with those under her care.

Louise's life was enriched by her family, who brought her boundless joy. As a devoted wife to Alfred, and a loving mother to her sons, Edward and Chad, a sister Kim Dick, she poured out her love unconditionally. The arrival of her grandchildren, Jordan, Ashley, and Olivia, brought her even greater happiness, and they became treasured additions to her family.

Louise was preceded in death by her father, Conrad “Jack” Vath, and her stepmother, Alice Vath.

Louise's legacy is one of kindness, unwavering faith, and strength in the face of adversity. A woman of deep belief and prayer, she confronted her cancer diagnosis in 2017 with grace and bravery and remained steadfast in her positive outlook. She continued to live life fully, sharing her love and support with family and friends.

Throughout her life, Louise found solace in the hymn, "The Old Rugged Cross," a testament to her unwavering faith and belief in God's promise of eternal life. “To the old rugged cross I will ever be true; Its shame and reproach gladly bear; Then He'll call me someday to my home far away, Where His glory forever I'll share”. Louise Kingsland will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Louise’s Life will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Calvary Chapel, 900 N Lincoln Ave, Jerome.
