It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise Leachman, affectionately known as "Grandmama," who left us on September 4, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on June 5, 1943, in Commerce, Georgia, to the late Leo and Emily Burgess, Louise was a lifelong resident of both Cobb and Paulding Counties. Louise was married to the late William Leachman II for 47 wonderful years.

Louise was a proud graduate of West Georgia University, earning her Master's Degree while dedicating her heart and soul to teaching in the Cobb County School System for an impressive 32 years. Her classroom was a second home, and she never met a stranger - her warmth and kindness touched the lives of countless students and friends.

Beyond her teaching, Louise was an excellent piano player, enchanting many with her melodies. She was an amazing cook known for her unparalleled sweet tea and scrumptious holiday treats. Louise had a green thumb and loved to spend time in her garden, nurturing both plants and relationships. Some of her most precious moments were spent with her family and friends laughing and telling stories.

She is survived by her beloved son, Wes (Barbara) Leachman; grandchildren, Jessica (Robert) Patton, Morgan Childress, and Kaitlyn Leachman (Dyllen Reed); great-grandchildren Jaidynn, Garrus, Liliana, and Lyra Patton; brothers Ted (Delvonnie) Burgess and Steven (Kathleen) Burgess; along with several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra King.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service in the Sam Clark Chapel at 3:00 PM. Come share your memories and celebrate the beautiful life of a remarkable woman who will be dearly missed.
