It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise Janice Shirley, nee Begay, our loving mother, a remarkable woman, and a dedicated professional in the healthcare field. Louise passed peacefully from this life in her home surrounded by loved ones on the evening of September 8, 2025. She was 88 years old.
Louise's nurturing spirit, unwavering support and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her surviving children, Christopher, Charles, Valerie, Tanya, Nicole, and Angela.
Louise was a brilliant and accomplished woman. Her dedicated and noteworthy career as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Supervisor inspired those around her. Louise's passion, devotion, and tireless work ethic made her an invaluable beacon and pillar in her 40 year nursing career, including 30 years working for the U.S. Public Health Service at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, where she retired as a Nursing Supervisor in 2002.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Louise was known for her warm and caring personality. She had a generous heart and was always the first in line to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Louise's memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends, colleagues, and patients under her devoted care. Her legacy as a mother, nursing professional, and friend will endure, and her spirit will continue to inspire us all. In our hearts she lives on, and we will forever honor the legacy of a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact in this world.
