Mrs. Louise R. Thivierge, 84, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Big Rapids. She was bornMay 30, 1940, to Isidor and Rose Ann (Wieber) Huss in Muskegon, and lived almost all of her life here. She had worked at Comerica Bank for 20 years, and then worked as a greeter at Meijer's in N. Muskegon for several years. Louise was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the Viking Linne Lodge, and volunteered at the Frauenthal Center. She went to school at Catholic Central, where she was a good athlete. Later in life she enjoyed playing golf and bowling. On August 16, 1980, she married the love of her life, James A. Thivierge, and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1991. Survivors include two children: Teresa "Terri" (Brian) Fountain of Morley, MI, Kristi L (Harley "Dean") Dorman of St. Petersburg, FL; daughter-in-law: Mary Jo Moon of Fremont; grandchildren: Tara (Will) Ballowe, Cassie Jo (Benjamin) Hensley, Ryan (Vanity) Bigelow, Tanya (Rich) Haeussler, Courtney (Michael) Jones, Hunter (Kassandra) Gibson; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Huss; one sister-in-law, Glenna Huss. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son Scott Michael Shafer; her parents; sisters: Catherine (George) Fuller, Anthonette "Nettie" (Ceylon "Bill") Curtice, and Delores "Tootie" (Martin) Tardani; and her brothers: Marvin (Connie) Huss, Kyran (Pete) Huss, Willis (Jane) Huss, and Theodore Huss, and sister-in-law, Alyce Huss. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 1, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sale Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441.
