Louise Katherine Watson, 86, Kansas City Northland and formerly of LaSalle, IL and Malden, MO. Passed away peacefully July 27, 2025 with her loved ones at her side.
Louise was born July 23, 1939 in St. Mary’s Hospital, LaSalle, Illinois. The daughter of Russell R. and Mabel A. (Rutkowski) Stiffel. Louise grew up in LaSalle and attended the Oglesby – Washington Grade School. She graduated from the LaSalle – Peru High School in 1956.
In her early adulthood, Louise worked alongside her mother at the Westclox Clock Factory, meticulously assembling clocks. Later, she and her beloved husband, Bobby, moved to Tonka, IL and opened their cherished "Watson New Old Antique Store”. They later moved to Malden in the Missouri boot hills where they owned and operated Bob's Tire and Auto Sales. Even in retirement, Louise continued to find joy in collecting antiques, particularly enjoying the thrill of discovering unique treasures at garage sales.
Louise cherished her time with family, especially the weekly tradition of spending Saturday nights with her daughter and son-in-law, playing rummy and catching up on the week's events. An avid animal lover, she was rarely without a canine companion, her most recent being her beloved dog, Patches. She also found pleasure in feeding the birds, always keeping a supply of birdseed on hand, and observing the squirrels enjoying their share.
Louise was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 58 years, Bobby Watson, who passed away in 2022.
She survived by her daughter Cynthia (Larry) Sumner, Kansas City, Missouri. Her son Jim (Karen) Watson, Oglesby, Illinois. Her Grandchildren, Anthony Watson, Amanda Watson, both of Illinois. Bobby.(Sara) Sumner, Aprille (Kyle) Faucher all of Missouri. Eight great grandchildren, Ryan, Cheyenne, Elliot, Esther, Oliver, Truett Charlton, Reagan, Lucy, Henry and Baby Faucher, who is expected to arrive in January 2026.
