LoVanelle J. (Warner) Olson 91 of New Ulm, MN, passed away at Prairie Senior Cottages in New Ulm on August 13, 2025 surrounded by family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:30a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Funeral Service for LoVanelle and a Celebration of Life for Howard will be at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, New Ulm with Pastor Kathleen Ulland- Klinkner officiating. Internment will be held at New Ulm City Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the church following the internment. Minnesota Valley Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born in Darfur, MN on March 15, 1934. Daughter of Richard and Arline (Rask) Warner. LoVanelle was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Darfur, she attended elementary school in Darfur and graduated from Comfrey High School.

LoVanelle married the love of her life, Howard G Olson on December 30, 1955 at Augustana Lutheran Church, St. James, MN. They were married for 64 years.

She is survived by their daughters, Valerie J Aufderheide (Bill) and Lynae C Bushard (Bradley), 4 grandchildren, Drew Aufderheide (Kelly), Brennan Bushard, Jacob Aufderheide (Libby), Chelsea (Bushard) Adams (Mike). Great grandchildren Ramsey and Gentrie Adams. Sister, Margene A. (Warner) Moreau and Sister- in -laws, Judy Wells (Randy), Joyce Ahlstrom (Mark) and many nieces and nephews.

She was the school secretary at Comfrey High School from 1953 -1956 and Church Secretary at Augustana Lutheran Church, St. James, MN from 1956-1967. She transferred to be the Secretary at St. James Public Schools 1967-1970. When they moved to New Ulm, she became the secretary in the guidance office at New Ulm Senior High School for many years and completed her working career as the Technology Secretary at New Ulm High School 1970-1995 until the time of their retirement. They moved to Spider Lake, Nevis MN, where they built their lake home.

She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, and had a very large cookbook collection. When the girls were young, Howard and Lo loved camping with family and friends. Other important activities for Lo were singing in church and community choirs and attending bible studies. They enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Alabama for 8 years. A trip to Sweden with Howard and visiting the birthplace of her grandparents was a special trip for her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her parents Richard and Arline Warner, mother and father-in-law-Helmer and Gladys Olson, Brother-in-laws Joseph Moreau, Orval Olson, and sister-in-law Joyce Olson.

She left us with countless beautiful memories and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
