Lovie Dorothy Redding

Lovie Dorothy Redding, 62, of Kerhonkson, N.Y., passed away on April 1, 2024 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
 
The daughter of the late John and Helen Huber, Lovie was born on September 24, 1961 in Kingston, N.Y. and grew up in Ellenville, N.Y. She graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a degree in Russian Literature and Language.
 
Lovie enjoyed the arts, especially playing clarinet in band and later in playathons with her daughter and grandchild. After marriage Lovie and Bill settled in Kerhonkson where she proudly raised her three sons and daughter. She loved being a mother and was an amazing housewife for her family.
 
Lovie is survived by her husband William at home, her three sons: Aleksei (Kirstene) of Kerhonkson, N.Y., Gregory (Kristen) of Campbell Hall, N.Y., Eric (Ashley) of Poestenkill, N.Y. and daughter, Anastasia Rittendale (Christopher) of Highland N.Y. She cherished her six grandchildren: Royce, Bentley, Elijah, Brielle, Ella and Ava. Lovie is also survived by her two sisters, Barbara Huber of Wawarsing, N.Y. and Elise Huber of Farmingville N.Y. She was predeceased by her nephew, Andrew Huber of Farmingville N.Y.

Visiting will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 4th at St. Mary and St. Andrew’s Church, 139 S. Main St., Ellenville, NY 12428. Burial will follow in the New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
 
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lovie’s memory to St. Mary and St. Andrews food pantry, 139 S. Main St. Ellenville, NY 12428 or Soyuzivka Heritage Center 216 Foordmore Rd. Kerhonkson, N.Y. 12446 where she worked many summers growing up.
