Lowell Mellenbruch

Lowell Mellenbruch, 71, passed away March 11, 2026, at his home in Hutchinson, KS. He was born on September 27, 1954, in Horton, KS, and was the son of Adrian and Edith (Schneider) Mellenbruch.

Lowell graduated from Sabetha High School and worked for Collins Bus for over 40 years. On February 14, 1986, he married Carol J. Deck in Hutchinson.

Lowell loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and he planned on doing more after retirement. He enjoyed bowling and has bowled for several years. His biggest achievement in bowling was to bowl a perfect game which he did do. He loved fixing up lawn mowers in his spare time.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; a brother, David Mellenbruch.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Carol Mellenbruch; son, Brent (Jared Olen) Deck; daughter, Amanda (Brian) Bushue; grandchildren, Samarah and Warrick Bushue; brothers, Mike Mellenbruch and Kenneth Mellenbruch; and sister, Ramona Gilmore.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 23, 2026, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS with Chaplin Tom Faulkner officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Allen School PTO and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
