Loya “Ray” Walker, age 90, passed away on March 7, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Kuttawa, Kentucky on August 3, 1933, the son of Percy Walker and Lena Bell Castleberry Walker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Davis, Doyle, and Bill; first wife E. Loretta “Lorie” Mahan Walker; son Terry; second wife Ava Sexton Walker; brothers, Roy and Odell; children Tom (Tina), Janet, Debbie Hopper (Jon Mark), and Sandy; grandchildren Whitney, Cody, Caleb, Jonna, Cassidy and his great-grandchildren Allie, Ethan, and Della, as well as other extended family and friends.
Ray is a retired Glazier and last worked at Sharper Image as a Maintenance Mechanic. He was an active member of the Mars Hill Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting on the old homestead and salmon fishing, but his passion was gardening. A proud moment was winning a blue ribbon at the fair for his Watermelon.
A Memorial Service for Ray will be held Saturday, April 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe, Arkansas.
