Mr. Loyd "Eddie" Thurston Sullivan, age 79, of Buchanan, GA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on September 14, 2025. He was born November 22, 1945 in Bowdon, GA to the late Loyd Dwight Sullivan and Thelma Smith Sullivan. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Rudene Benefield, Bobby Sullivan, and Wade Sullivan.

Eddie was a dedicated member of New Canaan Baptist Church. He retired from the City of Tallapoosa Public Works Department after 31 years of service.

Eddie is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Kathryn Ann McAdams Sullivan; children and their spouses, Wanda and Larry Bott, Eddie and Vicki Sullivan, and Bobby and Allison Sullivan, all of Buchanan; grandchildren, Michael Bott, Chris and Nikki Bott, Julie Bott, Erin Sullivan, Nick and Katrina Sullivan, Megan Golden, Jamie Abruzzino, Jake Abruzzino, Dalton and Kyli Sullivan, and Jax Sullivan; great grandchildren, Preston and Carrina Bott, Zayla Bott, Mason Bott, Addi Bott, Chelsea Wilson, Robert Wilson, Brayden Bott, Lillian Cummings, Maddux Sullivan, Ella Sullivan, Swayzie Cammons, Gracie Golden, and Parker Sullivan; sisters and brothers in law, Janell York, Diane McAdams, both of Bowdon, GA, Sue and Glen Williamson, of Ranburne, AL, and Elaine and Alan Lee, of Mt. Zion, GA; brothers and sisters in law, Perry and Edith Sullivan and Diane Sullivan, all of Bowdon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 3:00PM at New Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Edwards, Rev. Aaron Johnson, and Rev. Randall Moore officiating. Music will be provided by the New Canaan Church choir. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Tony McAdams, Michael McAdams, Jerome Wheeler, Daniel Williamson, Kevin York, Mark Edwards, and Matt Sullivan. Cody Sullivan will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Interment will follow in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00PM.
