Funeral services for William David Marshall (Dave), 79, will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Will Scott.
Dave graduated from the University of Evansville in 1967 and immediately went into pilot training with the United States Air Force. During his 25 year career, he was stationed in Okinawa, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, and Plattsburgh Air Force Base, New York, retiring as Lt. Colonel. At Plattsburgh, he loved flying the FB111 and would say, “I can’t believe they pay me to do this!” He later completed his MBA and at 67, he felt called to go to seminary, where he earned an MDiv and became an ordained minister.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, William Fugate Marshall and Dorothy Mae Jordan Marshall. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cheryl; children, Deborah Taber and husband, Phil, Kati Hutson and husband, Preston and David Marshall and his wife, Mindi; grandchildren, Benjamin Dupuy and wife, NataLee, William Dupuy and wife Alex, Ethan Taber, Hannah Hutson, Sarah Hutson, Abigail Hutson and great-granddaughter, Ella Blue Dupuy.
Dave was a man known for his love of family, God, and his service to his community. The family suggests memorials may be made to your local food bank or charity of your choice.
