Lucia Gutierrez Coronado, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Pasadena, Texas. Born on May 14, 1945, in Seguin, Texas, Lucia's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the simple joys that make life beautiful.
Lucia's journey began as the cherished daughter of Lorenzo and Beatrice C. Gutierrez. She grew up surrounded by the warmth of her family, learning the values of compassion and thoughtfulness that would define her life. In her youth, Lucia's passion for music and dancing was evident, as she embraced the rhythms of life with grace and joy.
After completing her high school education, Lucia embarked on a life filled with love and adventure. She married her beloved husband, Miguel V. Coronado Sr., and together they built a life that was both humble and rich in experiences. Lucia's love for her family was unwavering, and she was a nurturing presence in the lives of her children, Miguel Coronado Jr. and Alicia C. Gusman.
Lucia's love extended to her grandchildren, Vincent, Marcus, Gabriella, Johnathan, and Arabella, and she was blessed to know and cherish her 16 great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through them, as they carry forward the lessons and memories she shared.
Her brother, Fernando Urias, and her sister, Lupe Gutierrez Trevino, will forever remember Lucia as a loving sister who brought light and laughter into their lives. She was a friend to many, and her absence will be deeply felt by the numerous family members and friends whose lives she touched.
In her moments of solitude, Lucia found solace in the pages of a good book, the challenge of a crossword puzzle, and the beauty of the beach. She was a homebody at heart, yet her spirit of adventure led her to travel and camp, exploring the world while always cherishing the return to her own hearth.
Lucia's life was a melody composed of loving moments, thoughtful gestures, and the kind words she shared with those around her. As we remember her, we are reminded of the beauty of a life well-lived, one that was dedicated to the happiness and well-being of others.
Though preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her great-granddaughter, Abigal Rose Carranza, her brothers, Gil Urias and Migel Gutierrez, Lucia's memory will be lovingly preserved in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her life was a gift to all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire us to live with love, kindness, and thoughtfulness.
As we bid farewell to Lucia Gutierrez Coronado, we celebrate the life of a woman who truly understood the essence of family, the joy of life's simple pleasures, and the importance of leaving a legacy of love.
