Lucia Trani, age 88, of Norwalk died suddenly on September 30, 2025 at her home. Lucia was born in Ischia, Italy on January 11, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Luigi Trani and Restitutta Lombardi Taliercio. She was the adoring wife of the late Franco Trani.
Lucia is survived by her son, Louis Trani (Rosemary) of Norwalk, three beautiful granddaughters; Melissa, Luciana and Jessica Trani, of Norwalk, two younger sisters; Bea Schriver (Bob), of Norwalk and Olga Waddock (Mike), of South Carolina, a sister in law; Arlene Taliercio, of Florida, a brother in law; John Florio, of Redding, and many dear nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her son Anthony Trani and her siblings; Vincent Taliercio and Eleanora Florio.
Lucia was a hard working, generous and kind soul. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1964. She and Franco enjoyed 62 years of marriage and were soul mates. Lucia enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and cooking. She and Franco enjoyed spending winters in Tampa, Florida.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall St., in Historic Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Matthew’s Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk.
