Obituary of Lucienne D'Aout
Lucienne "Lucie" D'Aout, of Burlington, MA. formerly of Miami, Fl., passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 14, 2024, in the evening. She was 98 years old, and was born in Jacmel, Haiti. She was the daughter of Fernand Louis and Elirose D'Aout. She grew up and was educated in Haiti. She came to the US in the early seventies and worked as a nanny and a family member to the Albert family in Miami. She helped raise their four children and remained with them long after they had grown and had families of their own. She had a profound love for children.
Lucie lived a simple life and enjoyed spending time with family. She was a sport enthusiast. Her favorite pass time was watching professional wrestling and football. She was a lifelong fan of the Miami Dolphin and the New England Patriots as her second choice. She loved the outdoors. She traveled home to Haiti numerous times to visit with family and friends. She moved to Burlington four years ago and lived with her son and his family.
Lucie is survived by her daughters Jeannette Mathurin and her husband Eustache of Jacksonville, Fl., Edith Charles Wikina and her Husband Anson of Milton MA., and by her son Eddy Louis and his wife Solange of Burlington, MA. She was the grandmother to Lourg and Bonard Mathurin; Olivier, Nedith, Marc and Phillip Wikina; Suzie, Eddy Jr., David, and Jonathan Louis. And was also a great grandmother to six great grandchildren. In addition, she was a second mother to Daniel, Dominic, Stanley and Joann Albert.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington, MA., on Wednesday October 23, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Church in St. Veronica Parish, www.stveronicama.org, at 11:00 AM. Service will conclude with a burial in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
