Lucille (Cuscito) Bissonette, 96, of Bristol, beloved widow of the late Henry J. Bissonette Jr., passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, at home surrounded by her children. Lucille was born in New Britain on June 26, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace (Carucci) Cuscito. Lucille was raised in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School in 1946 where she was the captain of the cheerleading squad, class secretary and member of the student council. She earned her business degree from Hillyer College in Hartford in 1948. After graduating she was employed by the state of Connecticut as an administrative assistant. While attending a dance at Lake Compounce, she met the love of her life, Henry Bissonette Jr. In May of 1952, they were married and began a family of their own. She was a devoted and dedicated mother to her two children. During the early seventies, Lucille began her career at Wheeler Clinic in Plainville. During her tenure there, she returned to school and received her B.S. degree in Special Education at Goddard College in Vermont and then obtained her master's degree in education at Central Connecticut State University. While at Wheeler Clinic/Northwest Village School, she found her true calling in her life, teaching children for over 40 years. She also found immense joy spending time with her family members whom she cherished. She will be remembered by the people she touched and those that touched her. Lucille is survived by her two children, her daughter Anne Marie Bissonette of Avon and by her son, Mark Bissonnette of Bristol and his partner Julie McNeill. She was the doting grandmother to her two granddaughters, Hannah Bissonnette of Seattle, and her partner Rachelle Paquin, and Hayley Bissonnette of Vernon and her partner Evan Walsh, and their mother Kathleen Marek of Hartford, Ct. She will also be fondly remembered by her niece Barbara Cassin and her special friend Mary Sue Owens. She is also survived by her nephews, Thomas Cassin and his wife Patricia and Chris Cassin and his wife Catherine. Lucille is pre-deceased by her sister Rosemarie Cassin. Calling hours for Lucille will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 1-3 PM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave.,
