Lucille Josephine Polkowski Halfacre, 86, passed away on September 03, 2025. Born in Rockford, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Kathryn Sowa Polkowski and the wife of the late William "Bill" Halfacre of thirty-one years. She retired as a bookkeeper for Spartanburg Waterworks and was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Lucille was a daughter of immigrants who instilled a pride in her Polish heritage. She enjoyed a wonderful life raising six children and making a home full of love with delicious food, especially perogi, BBQ ribs and mashed potatoes. She was a talented seamstress, a good friend to many and enjoyed traveling and camping with Bill.
Survivors include her children, Deborah Orr and her late husband, Craig, Scott Halfacre, and his wife Jan, Daniel Peterson, William Halfacre Jr., Kathryn Johnson and her husband, Keith, and Molly Halfacre; a sister, Helen Cook; 12 grandchildren, Carrie Drinkwine, Derek Orr, Elizabeth Emory, Amanda Pearce, William Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Daniel Peterson, Nathan Peterson, Justin Peterson, William Halfacre III, Samantha Halfacre, Heather Halfacre; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Lucille was predeceased by five brothers, Joseph, Stanley, Frank, Gene, and John Polkowski; and a sister Mary Eytalis.
Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM, on Friday, September 05, 2025, at the Stribling Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim McMakin officiating.
The family will Receive Friends from 3:15 PM-3:45 PM, prior to the service.
Interment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
