Rhea D. Halfacre, 76, passed from this life on Monday, January 19, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rhea was born in Columbus, Indiana, on November 10, 1949, to proud parents Bill Ayers and Carolyn Ayers.

Throughout her life, Rhea was a beacon of kindness and generosity, touching the lives of many with her caring spirit and joyful demeanor. She shared over 40 dedicated years serving Cummins Engine Company, where she formed lasting friendships and was known for her strong work ethic and vibrant personality.

Beyond her professional achievements, Rhea treasured the simple pleasures of life. She had an enduring passion for gardening, finding peace and joy in the tranquil moments spent nurturing her plants. Rhea's culinary skills were a source of delight for her family and friends, for she would frequently cook and bake, filling her home with the exquisite aromas of her delicious creations. Her love for shopping was unmatched, always on the lookout for the perfect item to brighten someone's day.

Rhea is survived by her husband, Billy Halfacre; daughters, Lesa Carter and Bridget Carter; step-children, Joey Halfacre, Sheila States, and Daniel (Dori) Halfacre; grandchildren, Jesse Watts, Devin Cross, Taylor Halfacre, Dakota (Isaiah) Martin, Alexa Reeves, Brook Law, Hayden States and Adyson States; great-grandchildren, Bently, Laikyn, Jayce, Jaxyn, Jetson, Arya, Olive and Bonnie; and siblings, Terry Ayers and Jennifer Jester.

Rhea is preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Kimberly Watts.

The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington St. with Pastor Ron Hampton officiating. Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

Following Rhea's wishes cremation will take place following the service.
