John David Halfacre

John David Halfacre, 83, of Newberry, SC died on December 2, 2025. Born January 5, 1942, he was the son of Walton B. Halfacre and Hazel Wilson. John was a graduate of Newberry High School (1960), The Citadel (1964), and the University of South Carolina. His professional career was in public education, serving as a school psychologist, elementary school principal in Charleston and Dorchester counties, and educational consultant.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Inabinet Halfacre, two sons, David L. Halfacre (Lexington, SC) and Dean A. Halfacre (Arlington, VA), and three granddaughters; Taylor Halfacre, Kaitlyn Halfacre, and Amara Halfacre.

Family visitation will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Clayton Memorial Unitarian Church on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 to 10:45am. All are invited to a Gathering of Friends Celebration in the church sanctuary at 10:45am.
