Lucille "Granny" Hausler, 100, of Plano IL passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Welcomed by her parents John and Mary (Amass) Anderson on February 10, 1924, she was born and raised in Chicago, IL.
As a young woman she married her beloved husband, Leonard Hausler and moved to Plano IL becoming a lifetime member of the community she so loved. Lucille was among the pioneers for women and joined the workforce during World War II. Then she became a small business owner and went onto having numerous roles at SealMaster all while caring for her growing family. Her fearlessness, grit, determination, kindness, ability to make friends wherever she went and deep faith in the Lord was the foundation in her life's first chapter and perpetuated for a lifetime.
In Lucille's second chapter she earned her title as "Granny". Not only carrying for her own grandchildren but their friends and children of her beloved community. "Granny" loved to cook "family" dinners where all were welcome and famously known for her signature sides of coleslaw and Spanish Rice. Also, with a passion to travel she enjoyed visiting with family and her church community friends around the United States. Additionally, she couldn't resist a good yard sale and "Granny" being a "foodie" loved dining out and trying new cuisines.
Her legacy lives on through her children, Donald (Bonnie) Hausler, Mary Resendes-Ciamarra, Leonard (Judy) Hausler and Robert Hausler. Her grandchildren, Kristin and Elizabeth, Connie, Tracy, and Jackie, Travis and April, Gus, Nathan, Patrick, and Jason, Teresa, Matthew, Tyler, Sasha and Josh. Numerous great, great-great grandchildren, and extended family.
Preceding her in death and welcoming her home to Heaven are her parents, her husband Leonard, her daughters, Judy Schnieder and Lennette Jarman. Her grandchildren, John, Andrew, Bobby, and Les, her two sisters, Susan Budge and Ellen Esbrook, her two brothers, William and Arthur Anderson and her beloved nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano.
