George E. "Gene" Hausler, 90, of Richmond, Texas passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 17, 2025. He was born on March 27, 1935, to Darlene (Moers) and George Ernest Hausler. Gene was a graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School, Class of 53 and was also a graduate of business college in 1958. He was in the Army stationed at Atlanta General Depot where he met and married his wife. He was a Fourth degree Knight of Columbus of Assembly 1114 and was in the paint and floorcovering business for over 65 years. George is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Emma Jean Hausler; sons Arthur Hausler (Jane), of Richmond and Larry Hausler, of Mont Belvieu, Texas; grandchildren Bonnie Sharp (Jarrod), of Boling, Brian Hausler (Devan), of Paige, Aaron Sidener (Anessa), of Texas City and Sarah Castillo (Sammy), of Rosenberg; great-grandchildren Elise, Wyatt, Clara, Owen Sharp, of Boling, Gibson Garcia, of Rosenberg and Maddox Ridley, of Richmond; brother Donald Ray Hausler (JoAnn), of Wharton; brothers in-law, Arthur "Sonny" Autry, of Conyers, Georgia and Joseph T. "Tommy" Autry (Jean), of Zephyr Hills, Florida; sister in-law, Theresa Silverman (Mark), of St. Augustine, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Darlene Hausler; in-laws, Arthur N. and Emma Cecilia Autry; daughter Tina Marie Hausler; sister in-law, Barbara Autry.
