Lucille Marion Laymon, 84, of Rogersville, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 at her home.

She was born on February 17, 1941 in Sandpoint, Idaho to John and Mildred "Perrigo" Goughnour.

Lucille lived and worked in Alaska, Nevada, and Minnesota before moving and spending most of her life in Missouri. For many years she drove for Prime Inc. with her partner Dean Laymon where she received the prestigious Prime Millionaire Program Award for driving more than a 1,000,000 miles without an accident. She was one of the few women truckers driving long haul in the 7O's and 80's.

In her retirement, Lucille enjoyed her small farm raising chickens, turkey's and growing an impressive garden each year. She was a member and attended Victory Life Church in Rogersville until her health declined. Lucille loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing her faith with many. She also loved her dogs.

She is survived by her brothers, John Goughnour and his wife Jean of Clarkston, Washington, and Ron Goughnour and wife Michelle of Hayden, Idaho, her nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her partner, Dean Laymon, her sons, Leonard and Paul Goughnour, her father and mother, John and Mildred Goughnour, and her sisters Shirley and Paula Goughnour.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025 with a funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Panther Valley Cemetery north of Rogersville.
