Lucille A. (Nolette) Moriarty, 93, of Winchendon, died peacefully Thursday, October 10, 2024 in her home, with her family at her side.,
She was born in Winchendon on April 19, 1931, daughter of the late Adelard and Antoinette (Gagner) Nolette and attended St. Bernard’s High School, Fitchburg. She was a resident of Winchendon for most of her life.
Lucille had worked at the former Independent Lock for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and made Canadian pork pies for many years at church functions. She was also a member of Winchendon Golden Agers, Silver Sneakers and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former instructor of water aerobics at the Wendell Clark YMCA. An avid bowler, Lucille had been a member of various bowling leagues. Her hobbies were cooking and knitting. Lucille was very quick witted.
A lover of children, Lucille babysat all of her grandchildren as well as many area neighborhood children through the years. An excellent cook, she enjoyed making salmon pies, stuffed cabbage and stuffed peppers for family and friends. A devout Catholic, Lucille recited her rosary and Chaplet of Divine mercy daily.
Her husband of 53 years, Eugene P. Moriarty Sr., died in 2005. She leaves five children, Eugene P. Moriarty Jr and his wife Sylvia of Fitzwilliam, NH, Deborah A. Moriarty of Winchendon, Denise A. Fitzmaurice and her husband Curt of Winchendon, Shawn D. Moriarty and his fiancé Melissa Leblanc of Baldwinville and Patrick R. Moriarty of Winchendon; two sisters, Rita Amenta of Winchendon and Doris Lafond of Oregon; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Richards; four brothers, Roland Nolette, Roger Nolette, Romeo Nolette and Robert Nolette as well as a great granddaughter, Mia Cormier.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street are Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 5 to 7 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
