Dr. Joe Moravec
January 28, 2025
My name is Joe Moravec. Lucie was a dear cousin. Our mothers were sisters. In our family, my mom only had sons and no daughters. But she considered Lucie as her "adopted" daughter. I, being the youngest of the four boys and closest age-wise to Lucie, she was like the only "sister" I ever had. I have fond memories of playing with Lucie as a young lad when my mother would come to visit Aunt Mildred in Beloit.
Over the years, growing up in a different State and, as an adult, moving around the country pursuing my education/career, I only was able to keep in contact with Lucie through Christmas cards, occasional phone calls and Facebook. With both Lucie's mother and my mother's passing, our connection became less frequent. But Lucie's heroic battles (and victories) with illnesses and her losses of family members and Brad, kept her in my thoughts and prayers.
Yes, I, along with many, will certainly miss Lucie. Yet, none of us would ever want to keep her from being finally home with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and being reunited with all of her loved ones who have gone before her in heaven. Now, she has a perfect, pain-free body. Now, she is enjoying eternal bliss. Now, she has received her heavenly rewards. Oh, we can only imagine the unfathomable joy she is now experiencing. Welcome home, my dear cousin. I love you. Until I see you again.
