Lucille Boatwright Ridgell, 90, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024. Born in Aiken County, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Boatwright and Minnie Craps Boatwright. Lucille was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Batesburg.
Lucille is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruby Lynn Stevens (Scott) of Dundee, NY; grandchildren, Amy Stevens of Chicago, IL & Mirah Gillian of Victor, NY; along with her step-grandsons, James Stevens of Muskogee, OK, David (Blair) Stevens of Muskogee, OK. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Margot, Dean and Felix Stevens; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joel Edward Ridgell, Jr.; siblings, Brady (Beatrice) Boatwright, Evelyn (Lester) Mills, Arthur (Murice) Boatwright, Clarence (Bernice) Boatwright, Lula Mae (James) McKay, and John (Louise) Boatwright.
The funeral service for Mrs. Lucille will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 18th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with burial following in Batesburg Cemetery. Rev. Judd Hook will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 PM at the funeral home.
