Lucille Pickett Wise went to join the Lord on January 14th, 2025.
Lucille was born on September 29, 1946, in Crystal City, Texas to parents Joseph Pickett and Dorothy Pickett.
Lucille was always a very sociable and outgoing personality. Lucille was married to her husband Marion Wise, and they had just celebrated 57 years together on January 6th, 2025. She loved to laugh, dance, and sing her favorite country music songs. This trait was passed on to her children, Kevin & Kristi, at an early age where she trained them to properly 2-step and appreciate good country music. She was a beloved member of the community and school where she worked for many years in Utopia, Tx where she and Marion raised their children. She loved to work with the kids in school where she retired as a beloved Teacher’s Aide. Lucille loved arts and crafts, loved making baked goods (known for her prune cakes!), and especially loved sharing these with her family and friends.
Lucille was proceeded in death by her parents Joseph Pickett and Dorothy Pickett.
She is survived by her husband Marion Wise of Utopia, Tx. Son Kevin Wise and Fiancé Susan Brucks of Utopia, Tx. Daughter Kristi Wise Walden and husband Anthony Walden of San Angelo, Tx. Sister Joana Pickett Alexander and husband Gilbert Alexander of Boerne, Tx. Brother Joseph Forest Pickett and wife Jan Pickett of McCloud, Ok. Niece Nicole Alexander Rowe and husband Jemmie Rowe of Canyon Lake, Tx. Niece Megan Alexander Limmer and husband Josh Limmer of Centerpoint, Tx. Nephew Evan Pickett and wife Summer Pickett of Dallas, Tx. Niece Paige Pickett Spotts and husband William Spotts with their two children Charlie and Payton of Bartonville, Tx. Great niece Alexandria Rowe of El Campo, Tx and great nephew August Rowe of Canyon Lake, Tx. Great nephew Dillon Asher with Fiancé Ashlee Culak of Bandera, Tx. Great niece Caleigh Thornton with husband Will Thornton and daughter Oakleigh of Bandera, Tx.
The funeral service will be Friday, January 24th at 2 pm at the Baptist Church in Utopia, TX followed by a graveside service.
Following the graveside service a Celebration of Life will be held in the Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Please feel free to wear vibrant colors to celebrate Lucille’s love of Life, Family, & Friends.
