Lucinda Wilma Mickens

Lucinda Wilma Mickens, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, in Greensboro, NC, at the age of 60. Born on January 21, 1965, in Plainfield, NJ, Lucinda was the beloved daughter of the late Emma and Marvin Mickens.

Lucinda grew up in the heart of Union County and graduated from Plainfield High School. From a young age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and was united with Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she joyously contributed her voice to the church choir. Her faith and love for music were enduring elements of her life.

A devoted homemaker, Lucinda found immense joy in singing and spending time with her family. Her home was a place of warmth and music, where family and friends gathered to enjoy her beautiful voice and loving spirit. Lucinda's life was a testament to the love and dedication she had for those she held dear.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Leslie Garner, and her brother Clifford Davis. Lucinda leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her sons, Khafiz Mickens and Jaquil Mickens; her daughter, Candice Jackson; her sister, Basimah Abdul-Baseer; her brothers, Eric Mickens, James Mickens, and Marvin Mickens; and her cherished grandchildren, Fier Bute, Leilani Bute, and LaJuan Kornegay. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will hold her memory close.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lucinda's life at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service Chapel, located at 2110 Servomation Road, Greensboro, NC 27407. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Lucinda Wilma Mickens will be remembered for her unwavering love, her melodious voice, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
