Lucinda Pottle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tate Mortuary on Oct. 6, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

July 4, 1943 - October 4, 2025

Lucinda Pottle, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 82 years old.

Lucinda was a woman of many talents. Her artistic abilities blossomed early in life. She loved painting and was inspired to create meaningful pieces which were created from her heart. Lucinda also sculpted with clay, paper mache, and food. She was an avid seamstress, creating intricate garments and keepsakes for her loved ones. Lucinda's creative spirit extended to her writing, and she delighted her family and friends with stories that captured her whimsical view of the world.

She loved gardening and through the nurturing of her plants and vegetables, she won blue ribbons in county fairs, and she passed on her green thumb to her daughters.

A homemaker at heart, Lucinda's kitchen was the heart of her home. The delicious meals and baked goods she lovingly prepared brought everyone together, filling the home with warmth and laughter.

Lucinda's work history has included working as Professional Model, an Inhalation Therapist, Technician for a large technology company, a QC specialist in aviation, and many others.

In her unwavering devotion to creatures great and small, her love embraced dogs, birds, and cats, as well as chickens, ducks, her horse, a wild moose, and even a wild fawn.

Lucinda is survived by her husband, Tony Pottle, in Grantsville, Utah. They were married in 2006.

Lucinda and Tony enjoyed their time together, from twirling across the dance floor as partners in life, to finding peace and purpose in their Temple work. They enjoyed traveling and they found simple joys in the quiet intimacy of a long car ride, and at the end of the day, they enjoyed watching movies while they held hands and comfortably sat in the silence.

Lucinda's greatest joy, however, was her family. She is survived by her husband, Tony Pottle, and her two children, Lendy Hart and Rhonda Salazar. She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren, (Lendy) Marcus Gayou (Lauren), David Gayou (Lisa), Albert Gayou, Marcella Holman (Kiley), Zarra Hart, Aaron Hart, and Daniel Hart; (Rhonda) Daveena Marcus, Theresa Salazar (Wade), and Michael Salazar (Jocelyn). A great-grandmother of 9, (Marcus) Aubrey, Ella, Hailey, Maverick, (David) Everly, Mason, (Marcella) Helena, Fynn; (Daveena) Autumn.

Her legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will live on through them. She was also a treasured friend and companion to many throughout her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main Street, Tooele, Utah, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

Immediately following there will be a graveside service at the Grantsville City Cemetery, 380 West Main Street, Grantsville, Utah.

Friends and family may also watch the service remotely at: tatemortuary.com on Lucinda's obituary page.

Lunch will be served at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints at 550 East Durfee Street, Grantsville, Utah.
