Lucretia A. "Pat" Panichelli, 95, of Thorndale, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph J. Panichelli, who passed away in 2018.
Born in Philadelphia on May 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Matilda Rocco Fumo. Pat graduated from West Catholic Girls High School, was an avid violin player there, and went on to work as an Operator for Bell Telephone. She then raised her five children and was a great homemaker. Pat was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downingtown, was a member of St. Joseph's Women Auxiliary, made food for the Church for many years for many occasions, and attended daily mass for many years. She was faithful to St. Joseph's Church, president of Prime Timers and always involved with Sr. Circle. She faithfully read scripture every day, prayed the rosary twice daily, and often prayed to St. Padre Pio. She worked at Belwin Mills Music Publishers for 13 years, worked at Camilla Hall for 6 years, then worked in the snack/Gift shop at Brandywine Hospital until she was 80 yrs old. Pat always loved helping people and always had a kind word and advice for friends and family. Pat was very artistic, especially with ceramic creations, and she loved to read and play word games. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her children John J. Panichelli, husband of Dawn, Patricia Anne Conner, wife of Lee, Mary Jo Berry, wife of Bruce, Joseph J. Panichelli, husband of Patricia, and Gerard J. Panichelli (Rachel), brother Martin Fumo (Mimi) and sister Alma Fumo; 14 grandchildren Brad (Lan), Sarah (Mark), Luke (Michelle), Meg, Nicci (Rob), Ryan (Rachel), Joseph (Abby), Jenna, Gina (Mike), Michelle (Myles), Jillian (Ivan), Victoria (Aaron), Valeri (Vincent), Molly (Max); 21 great grandchildren Lucy, Max, Makayla, Oliver, Kylee, Harper, Milo, Brandon, Krista, Sloan, Penelope, Rhys, Cecilia, Lexi, Emmy, Avery, Vincent, Carmen, Everly, Myla and Charlotte; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Fumo and her sister Marguerite DiValerio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 332 Manor Avenue,
Downingtown, PA 19335. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:45 AM prior to mass at the church. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
