To the Family of Mrs. Brown:
Please know that your loss is also a loss to the Ithaca community. We all will miss her and appreciate all the love and protection she provided by caring for others.
Now in my 60's, I have fond memories of growing up a few houses from Mrs. Brown and Louise on Albany St. She was most definitely a part of the village that raised me and I will be forever grateful for that.
She was always kind and had time to share a thought with me. She had a way of making you feel seen and heard. That's a gift!
Rest assured, she has left her legacy in the community and especially on Albany Street.
May the grief that you feel today soon become the fond memories of her kind soul.
May she rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Ms. Lucy was an extraordinary woman. I've been blessed to know her, and love her for over 50 years. Lucy was strong, smart, kind when possible, and audacious when necessary. I loved that with her unmistakable smile she could put you in your place and then bring you right back into the fold, happy to be there. She had a powerful, positive impact on our little city, and her legacy will be with us for many years to come.
Rest in Peace Ms. Lucy Brown.
