Lucy Martina Evans

Lucy Martina Evans Porter Evans, 91, born July 26, 1934, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away on January 31, 2026, in Lebanon, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Porter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jeroyd Frank Evans, and her siblings, John H. Porter, Leo C. Porter, Betty Claire Porter, Mary Louise Porter, Mary Elizabeth Porter McDonald, Charles Porter, Mary Angela Porter Simpson, Willie Mae Porter Mattingly, and Alice Dorothy Porter Bell.

Lucy attended St. Monica School and graduated from Rosenwald High School in Lebanon. During many years of traveling globally with her husband for his military and professional careers, she continued her education to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.

In addition to nursing, she was passionate about service and giving back. From being her son's Cub Scout leader to volunteering at hospitals in the communities where she lived, she always found time to participate in numerous church committees.

Lucy was a member of Damascus Court NO. 27 and the Order of the Eastern Star, where she held multiple leadership roles. She was a member of the Lebanon Chapter of the NAACP and served on the Board of the Marion County Youth Center.

Among her accomplishments, Lucy was awarded the Commission of Kentucky Colonel by the former Governor of Kentucky. She received a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Navy for her unselfish, faithful, and devoted volunteer service. Lucy has been elected Honorary Board Member of the Saint Monica Alumni Committee.

Lucy always had a warm smile for everyone and loved to dance.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Frank Evans; daughter-in-law, Janet Miller Evans; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Martina Evans and Erin Belita Evans; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service that will be held at 6:00 P.M., officiated by Deacon Joe Dant.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 27, 2026 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery. A bereavement meal will take place at St. Augustine Parish Hall immediately after interment.
