Date of Death: March 26, 2025
Date of Birth: March 16, 1948
Lucy Ann Philbrook, 77, of Jay, Maine, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, after several years of dedicated care from her beloved husband, Don, due to her declining health and loss of eyesight. Born on March 16, 1948, in Bangor, Maine, she was the cherished daughter of Christie (Stevens) and Everett Rines.
Lucy was renowned for her profound love for her family, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in playing cards with her brother Everett and sister-in-law Helen, watching her grandchildren participate in sports and activities, fishing, solving puzzles, reading, crafting, and, in her younger years, bowling. Her career included roles at Ford Motor Company and Banton Brothers Inc., but her most treasured role was that of a devoted housewife and loving mother.
Preceding her in death were her son, Don Philbrook, and her parents, Christie and Everett Rines.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Don Philbrook of Jay; her daughters, Brenda Spearrin and Tom Graham of Florida, Missy Shaw and Jim of Plymouth, Lisa Clayton and Al of Vermont; and her daughter-in-law (daughter) Theresa Philbrook of Newport. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Brandon, Marissa, Sarah, Josh, Brooklyn, Taylor, and Scott, as well as her great-grandchildren, Allison, Eden, Gabriel, Harper, Riley, Charles, Myles, Valentina and Henry. Her siblings Everett, Gloria, Nancy, Robert, and Brenda will also lovingly remember her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Salvation Army.
"You know I love you, don't you ever forget it."
