Luella Smith

Luella Smith Age 74, of Somerset, WI, formerly of Rice Lake, WI, died Saturday, December 14, 2024 in New Richmond, WI. She was born on May 29, 1950 in Rice Lake to Walter and Elizabeth (Thome) Becker. Luella graduated from Rice Lake High in 1968. She worked for the telephone company as a telephone operator and also did clerical work. Luella was married to Gordy Smith on February 21, 1976 in Rice Lake. She enjoyed putting together photo albums and working on the family tree. Luella loved being with her dogs Oliver Jones and Clark. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Cheaney; the treasurers of her life were her granddaughters, Allison (Nick), Caitlyn, Anna (Noah) and Mikayla; a great granddaughter, Gabriella; 5 sisters, Janice Stearns, Ingrid Anderson, Sharon Smith, Marilyn (Dave) Juza and Linda (Len) Smith; a brother, Kenny Becker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordy Smith; and her parents; Walter and Elizabeth Becker; a sister, Dorothy Kildahl. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is serving and assisting the family with the arrangements.
