Luis 'Lucho' Anchundia, born on August 26, 1942, passed away on March 10, 2024 after a long illness surrounded by family. Luis was born in Manta, Ecuador and was a resident of Slate Hill for the past 38 years.
Luis married his wife of 51 years, Everling Anchundia, in Queens, New York. Luis enjoyed eating his wife's cooking, traveling, soccer, and spending time with family. He was a kind-hearted man that loved his family and will always be lovingly known as Superman.
Luis is also predeceased by his daughter; Stacey Anchundia, his mother-in-law; Azucena Panta, his mother and father; Jorge and Orfelina Anchundia, his siblings; Manola Mendoza, Marta Alonzo and Jorge Anchundia.
Luis is survived by his dedicated wife Everling and children: Kelly Szeli, spouse Brian Szeli, their daughters Riley and Logan. Melissa Hill, spouse Justin Hill, their children Maverick and Grace. Tracey Anchundia-Jay, spouse John Jay, and their son Samuel Luis. His brother Pedro Delgado and his spouse Malena. Several sister-in-law and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Lastly, his beloved pets Sarita and Panchito.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday, March 14 from 4 - 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church in Slate Hill on Friday, March 15 at 11 AM.
