Luis E. Melendez, 55, of Bethlehem Twp. passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital Anderson Campus. He was the husband of Jodi Eddinger. Luis was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on April 13, 1969 to Justino and Carmen D. (Marrero) Melendez of Bethlehem. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy and Reserves for 18 years. Luis was a graduate of Freedom High School and Kutztown University. He dedicated his career to the trucking industry, in the fuel sector. Luis worked for the past 23 years for Dalton Delivery Service, Allentown in many capacities. His work ethic and commitment to his profession were unparalleled, and he was well-respected among his colleagues. Luis was a devoted son, brother, and father, whose life was filled with love for his family and passion for life, which included his love for riding his Harley Fat Bob "Ellie".
Survivors: In addition to his parents and wife; son: Justin L. (Kayla) R. Melendez of West Bend, WI,; sister: Sonia N. (Mark) Rex of Easton; brother: Wilfred (Ana) Melendez of Allentown; grandchildren: Charlotte, Colton, Carter, Sawyer, Presley, Hunter, Corbin; nieces & nephews: Steven, Chelsey, Jessica, Richard, Evan, Nicholas, Shyna, Jose.
Service: Family and friends are invited to a gathering period from 1-2pm Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem. Condolences may be offered online at www.connellfuneral.com
