Luis Toyens Jr., beloved brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away on Monday September 22, 2025 at the age of 66. Born to the late Navy sailor, Luis Toyens Sr. and Fannie Louise Toyens. Luis Jr was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Milton, FL.

Luis graduated from Milton High School in 1978, where he was a standout football player, earning recognition as a star running back and leading his team to a state championship victory. He was also in the MHS Hall of Fame for Brick & Mortar.

After high school, Luis began working at the American Cyanamid chemical plant. He later worked in construction in Pensacola, FL until his retirement in 2019. His work ethic and commitment to his job were evident to all who knew him.

Luis is survived by his sister, Cynthia Toyens of Pensacola; his half-sisters, Coralys Toyens of New York and Lorna Toyens of Puerto Rico; and his half-brother, Luis Alfredo Toyens of St. Augustine. He leaves behind his cherished children, Tamecia, Robert, and Keshia (Kevin), who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: LaShanta, Elias, Kendarius, Terez, Amaya, Layla, Deontre, and Cameron, who brought immense joy to his life. His legacy also includes two beautiful great-granddaughters, Ava and Carai.

Luis is also survived by his nephews, Derrick (Sumayah) and Brandon, and his nieces, Mandy and Holli. He will be deeply missed by his Uncles Ronnie and Wilbert, and his aunt Brenda (John), along with many extended family members and friends.
