Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend Luisa Accardo is at peace. Survived by her children, Celia Accardo, Frankie (Nicolette) Accardo, and David (Chelsea) Accardo, as well as her grandchildren, Giovanni and Santino, her brothers Raymond Accardo (Lisa), Louie Accardo, Tony Accardo (Gina), her sister Mary (Kenny) Rossiter, as well as her loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary (nee Barone) and Raimondo Accardo, her sister Carol Moore, and her brothers Joseph Accardo, Saverio Accardo and John Accardo. Luisa was born on Aprill 30, 1967, in Long Island, New York. The family moved to Philadelphia when Luisa was a young girl and put down strong roots in the South Philadelphia community. She attended Stephen Girard school and graduated from GAMP.
She went on to raise her children in the community, as well as become a school crossing guard known by all the students in the neighborhood. She truly loved her work. She cared deeply for her Mother and family, and her Mother was beloved by her as well as her children. The Sunday dinners at her Mothers were special to everyone. She was well known for her string beans and potatoes, and her Sunday gravy was made with love for the whole family. Luisa loved music and dancing and dressed to the nines to go out. Her appearance was always spectacular. As a single Mom, she did everything possible to have a house for her children and take care of them even when times were hard. Her house, as many of you know, was decorated every holiday, and even won Best House Decoration for the Christmas holiday of 1999. It was always spotless and well taken care of, even being called "the white house" and your shoes had better come off at the door!
She was larger than life, would talk to anyone, and always wanted to please her children, especially Celia. She cared deeply for anyone who had less than her, and even if she had little, she would share with them. She will be missed and always in our hearts and minds, never forgotten and always cherished. "I carry your heart I carry your heart in my heart." "Remembering you is easy, I do it every day. Missing you is the heartache that never goes away. If love could have saved you, you would have never left."
Relatives and friends are invited to her VISITATION Tuesday evening April 22, 2025 6PM to 8PM at THE MONTI RAGO FUNERAL HOME 2531-35 S. Broad St Philadelphia, PA 19145. And Wednesday April 23, 2025 9AM to 10:30AM at the Church of Annunciation 10th & Dickinson Sts. Followed by her Funeral mass at 10:30AM. INT. will be held private. In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to Operation Hope 1625 Market St. Philadelphia, PA 19103.
