Luisa Alers

Luisa Alers (Cruz), age 82, of Jamaica Plain, MA, formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away on October 11, 2023. She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Luisa was a strong-willed, fiercely independent woman with a straightforward personality and a great sense of humor. Luisa loved walking and attending Zumba classes, which kept her active and brought her joy. She enjoyed her strong Café Bustelo and occasionally Kentucky Fried Chicken. Luisa's memory will be cherished by her daughter, Yvonne Alers, and grandson, Manuel Rios Alers. They were affectionately called "mi baby" and "el nene". In lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Visiting hours at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain on Tuesday October 17 from 6-8 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
