Luiza Maria De Morais (Lulu), age 27, passed away surrounded by friends and family on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Porter Hospice Care in Centennial, Colorado. She was born April 7, 1997 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil to Vanessa Doche and Carlos Morais. In 2000 she moved with her family to Portugal. They moved again in 2004 to the U.S. where they lived in Florida, California, and Colorado. Lulu met her second family, the Heykoop’s, in Colorado in 2014 and moved in with them shortly after. Two years later she gave birth to her daughter, Chloe Angelica Rose Morais on April 27, 2016.
The name Luiza means warrior and is associated with strength and valor. In her 27 years, Lulu truly embodied that meaning. She took every challenge that life threw at her and handled it with strength, determination, and grace. She wasn’t afraid to ask hard questions and face things head on. Not only was Lulu a warrior for herself and her own growth, but she was also a warrior for others. She fiercely loved and defended those close to her and would do anything for her friends and family. Lulu was an example of generosity and thoughtfulness. Her sense of humor could make half of the room go silent and the other half of the room burst into laughter. She was good at making people feel included and bringing people together.
Lulu worked hard to support her daughter and worked in small business, social work, and aesthetics. Her first focus was always her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Chloe; her parents; siblings; and a community of friends that loved her deeply. Lulu's family will be holding a Memorial Service at Waterstone Community Church on October 1, 2024 at 6 p.m. Please feel free to stop by and help family and friends honor her life.
