Luke Moss Jr.

Age 87 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Luke was born on July 3, 1938 in Douglas, Georgia to the late, Luke Moss and Ella Mae Moss (Johnson), Luke was a devoted husband to his late wife, Edna Moss for 58 years who passed away on November 12, 2025. Luke is survived by his daughters, Terrace Johnson, Barbara McClain, and Patricia Jordan, sons, Jeffrey Moss (Kenneth), Luke Moss, III (Nancy), Chris Moss (Dana), and Sky Moss (Rebecca). Luke is also survived by his three brothers, John Moss, Jack Moss and Conway Moss and his two sisters, Dorothy Shelanskey and Beatrice Moss together with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Luke is also survived by his granddaughter, Christen, who was so gracious and loving towards both her grandparents and loved spending time with them. Luke was a fun-loving person who loved to laugh, joke around and had a giving spirit. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. He also loved to fish, cook, exercise at the YMCA and watch Shoot Em Ups (Westerns). He was a talented musician and was in a band with his brothers, sang and played the organ. Luke attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Maple Avenue, Elmira and was a Deacon. In honor of his wishes, all services were private and he was laid to rest beside his beloved wife Edna Moss at Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
