Luna Yvonne Carter

Memorial services for Luna Yvonne Carter, 4 month old daughter of Charles Blake and Erin Montana Hilburn Carter, will be held on Sunday,      June 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Kevin Norris, her great uncle, officiating .

Luna passed away on Thursday, June 20 at Children's Hospital in Birmingham.                                                                                                          

"Luna was born 2/16/2024, she was 5 weeks and 4 days premature and only weighed 3 lbs 14 oz and was 17 inches long. she stayed on a Cpap and feeding tube and had multiple test, procedures, blood work, and even a blood transfusion; All before she was 2 months old! Her father and I were told she wouldn’t walk, talk, move her hands or legs, possibly be blind and deaf. She would need a trach with a ventilator and a feeding tube for the rest of her life. We had to make the choice to let her go through surgery knowing she would never actually be okay or let her go and be as she is with God, well we chose to let her be with God and these are the photos of her life "

Survivors include her parents: Charles Blake and Erin Montana Hilburn Carter; sister: Leila Carter; her grandparents: Karen Carter, Bob Carter, Johnny (Rachel) Hilburn, Paula Hilburn, and Keitha Blair; and great grandparents: Janis Hilburn, Charlsie Raley, and Carolyn Carter.
