Lupe G. Hernandez

Lupe G. Hernandez, age 64, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by the comfort and love of his family. He was born on September 8, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Juan and Elvira (Gonzalez) Hernandez.

Lupe attended Waite High School. His career was marked by entrepreneurial spirit. He was the proud owner of C&L Cores. Many years earlier, he also owned Family Auto Sales, where he built lasting relationships with customers and colleagues.

Lupe often enjoyed trips to the casino. His passion for classic and muscle cars was well-known, as was his enthusiasm for watching boxing, especially the matches held in Las Vegas. Lupe liked to unwind by indulging in classic western films and listening to music, particularly older rock and country tunes.

Family truly defined Lupe. He was a family-oriented man who prioritized the well-being of his loved ones above all else. He took immense joy in supporting his grandchildren, always finding time to create memories and share experiences. Lupe also adored his dog, Simba, who brought him companionship and friendship.

The family would like to thank his nephew Joseph Gonzales (Irma), Narciso Ibarra, and Lupe Garcia for their continued support and brotherhood during these difficult times.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his children, Venselada Hernandez, Lupe (Juanita) Hernandez Jr., and Roberto Hernandez; daughter-in-law, Christina Herrera; siblings, Jose Becerra, Juan Becerra, Victor (Bev) Hernandez, and Anita Hernandez; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Catarino Hernandez; brother, Mario Hernandez; nephews, Juan Carlos Vasquez and Nick Becerra; and sister-in-law, Rose Becerra.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm, with the rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, January 5, 2026, at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 1880 Genesee St., Toledo, Ohio 43605. Following Mass, Lupe will be laid to rest at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
