Lupe was born on April 28, 1948, to Atanacio Martinez Sr. and Angelita Martinez in Mathis Texas. She was raised in Mathis where she Graduated from Mathis High. She was the beloved wife of Aureliano. They were married on January 24, 1971, in Roswell New Mexico. Together they shared 52 years of a beautiful marriage. One of her greatest accomplishments was being a beloved Wife, Mom, and Nana. She was kind, loving, and very giving of herself. Together Lupe and Aureliano raised two children, Jesse Lozano of Roswell New Mexico, and Amanda Gonzales of Artesia New Mexico. Her love for her children knew no bounds and she showed it regularly whether it was buying them two separate meals from opposite sides of town, or making sure they had the best of all they wanted and needed. Apart from being a great mom she was also known as the best Nana to her grandchildren, godchildren, and all the children she helped raise. Lupe knew being a Mom and Nana was where the lord wanted her because she passed on the same love and nurturing nature to all those she met. Lupe was her name, but "MOM" and "NANA" were her most treasured of all names. Family meant everything and Lupe embodied that saying and all it entails. She not only made strong connections with all her family and friends, but she also had a special bond with her pet dog "Kobe". Although the family shared three mini schnauzers Kobe, Max, and Buddy. Kobe was most definitely her favorite as she was always sneaking him extra snacks. Lupe loved to cook, and everyone will truly miss "Nana's Beans" as no one made them like her. She loved adventures and testing her luck at the casinos. She also enjoyed watching her favorite shows, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and the Golden Girls. She was also very strong in her Catholic faith as she loved the lord dearly and recited the Rosary every night. Lupe "Nana" will be deeply missed by all.
