Lura Ellen Lawler (Jennings), 93, of Bonaire, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 21, 1932, in Sargent, Georgia, Lura was the cherished daughter of the late Glen and Thelma Jennings (Munroe). Lura had a deep love for life's simple pleasures. Known affectionately as the "Lollipop Lady" at the church home, she always had a sweet treat-especially her beloved Tootsie Rolls-on hand and a smile to share. She enjoyed spending her quiet moments with word searches, crossword puzzles, and scrolling through Facebook to keep up with friends and family. A proud Georgia Tech fan, she never missed a chance to cheer on her Yellow Jackets. Above all, Lura's greatest joy in life was her family. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by loved ones, whether during everyday moments or special celebrations. Her love, laughter, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Lura was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph Lawler; her sons, James David Forston and Harold Glen Forston; her siblings, Patsy McFall, Harold Norwood Jennings, and Glen David Jennings Jr.; and her parents. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children, Cathy Cotton (Mike) and Joe Forston (Amy); her grandchildren, Erica Williams (Mike), Timothy Forston (Roz), David Lee Forston, Drew Forston (Kristen), Brandon Hulsey, Joshua Hulsey (Adelina), and Lauren Webb (Kailey); and her great-grandchildren, Shamyn, Brenden, Christina, Zoey, Grant, Charlotte, Hudson, Brielle, Jase, Anthony, and Ava. A celebration of Lura's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. Dr. Nic Williams will officiate the service. With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel and Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements. Lura's sweet spirit, love of family, and joyful presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
