Lurdes M Leite

Lurdes M. Leite, 83, of Lakeville, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Friday, May 24, 2024. Born in Atei, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Celestino Magalhaes and the late Maria Aurora daSilva. She was the loving wife of her husband, Joaquim Leite and she will be sorely missed by her husband and her children. 

She was a stitcher for Cliftex and Riverside Manufacturing for many years. Lurdes was a woman of strong faith and she had endless devotion for her grandchildren. She took pleasure in cooking delicious meals for everyone she loved and in her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and tending to her garden. 

Lurdes is survived by her devoted husband, Joaquim Leite; her son Joao Magalhaes Leite of California; her daughters, Ana Vasconcelos of Lakeville, Suzana Leite-Simmons of Marion and their spouses. She is also survived by her brother, Amandio Magalhaes of Portugal; her sister, Graca Pereira and her four grandchildren, Katherine Vasconcelos, Amanda Vasconcelos, Andrew Lecuyer and William Lecuyer. 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joaquim Magalhaes of Portugal, Manuel Magalhaes of New Bedford, Alexander Magalhaes of Dartmouth, Antonio Magalhaes of New Bedford and her sister Maria Perpetua of Portugal. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30th from 5-7pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd. Her Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, May 31st at 11:30am. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
