Lutisha Benson Obituary

Lutisha, the only daughter of the late Deacon John Billups and late Juanita Ludd Billups. She was born on April 26, 1944, in Sumter, South Carolina.
Lutisha graduated from Morris College with a Bachelor's Degree in Science in 1966. During her time at Morris College, she met her husband, Bobby Benson. Some years after graduating and starting a family, she migrated to Columbia, SC and continued her career in education as a teacher in the public school system including at St. Andrews Middle School and later at Keenan High School from which she retired after many years to care for her mother.
Lutisha was a member of the Central Baptist Church for many years where she spent most of her Sundays before her mobility limited her. Lutisha was the foundation that always brought the family together.
Those who are left to cherish fond and loving memories are her two daughters, Alacea Benson and Shayla Benson; one son, Rodric Benson; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; her aunt; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
