Lyle Theodore Crum

Lyle Theodore Crum, 73, of Summerville, SC, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. Born on May 5, 1952, in Columbus, OH, the beloved son of the late Don and Elsie Morrison.

Lyle was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Marita Elizabeth Crum. They shared 47 wonderful years of marriage until her passing. Their bond was admired by all who knew them.

Lyle graduated from the University of Dayton and went on to build a successful career in mechanical engineering with Dimco-Gray Corporation. His work ethic, intelligence, and professionalism earned him respect throughout the engineering field.

Lyle was a classic, honorable man. He was generous, and fiercely dedicated to the people he loved. Family always came first for him. He cherished every moment spent with his children, coaching their sports teams, traveling together, or being around the dinner table. He and his wife worked together to create holiday joy for his children and extended family. Many of his favorite days were spent fishing, watching football, golfing, and taking family trips to Canada, a place that held a special spot in his heart.

He is survived by his loving children: Matt Crum, David, Crum, and Lindsay Crum, and his son-in-law, Pascal Maissa; a grandson, George Liam Decker; his brothers: Doug and Bob Crum; as well as his cousin, Butch Schultz. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marita Crum; as well as his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10 am to 1pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home.
